Sad when the trolls win
I’m sadden to hear that Kevin Folta has decided to give up science outreach due to the anti-GMO trolls. As Orac writes, I don’t blame him one bit.

I’ll take this time to say, thank you to all of you within science for any time you spend bringing good science to all of us, we understand the choice to withdraw and only teach the most receptive. So thanks again for anytime you all risk the trolls, I sure have benifitted.

As a western society, we seem to be regressing to the days of Galileo. Name the field, there is just no separation between science and politics any more. Add to that, the pressure of the Social media fueled mob and the Main Stream Media, I can understand why honest scientists are being driven into self elected anonimity, or worse.
