Jason Mitchell immunotherapy for cancer is very exciting. Keep in mind that the success rate is quite low so far. Baby steps. It’s also possible that it won’t work for all cancers. For example breast cancer can have different tumor types within the same patient, even within one breast.

I have to agree with Mark Bruce and go with CRISPRs.  I just designed my own guide RNAs in the lab just this week, and am looking forward to testing their ability to influence my Tissue Engineering work.  Should be a fun ride.

Thanks for chiming in Mark Bruce and Robby Bowles. I was going to say the CLARITY breakthrough was my favorite along with the sleep brain washing story. However, each breakthrough has something exciting and yet none of them really resonate with what I do.

Very exciting findings in each breakthrough. Sleep brainwasher and cancer immunotherapy are my favourites. Though the cancer treatment has a long way to go, it’s a start, and may work for some cancers.

Very well made video and a great round up of this year’s news in science. Thanks, Chad Haney . My favorite has to be the CRISPR technology. Hopefully, it will mean that transgenic animals will cheaper and easier to make.

Rajini Rao I am excited about CRISPR too but as I mentioned above, it doesn’t affect me directly. Siromi Samarasinghe we have some connections here regarding cancer immunotherapy. If only we could get Buddhini Samarasinghe and T to move to the US. 🙂 I think Buddy would enjoy working on cancer immunotherapy.

Yes, Chad Haney  there are so many opportunities in that field in the US. With the recent visa issues, not sure about the future plans of B&T leaving the UK!
