QualiaSoup: Evolution and Open-mindedness
I saw this video via Matt Uebel and really helps when you feel like engaging with creationist. A lot of times I just don’t have the energy. Nice share Trev Warth
I search my circled peoples and apparently a lot of you have seen another video by QualiaSoup on being open-minded.
It is equally well done.

Evolution Explained
This is probably my favourite video on evolution, due to it being informative and bite-size, touching on both natural and artificial selection. I felt the need to post this in response to some of the comments made in a post of mine earlier today, rather than responding to every comment:

Do your professors really insist of using terms like “artificial selection”? Seems quite over the top.

Artificial selection refers to purposeful breeding, as with dogs (as opposed to selection by the vagaries of nature). It doesn’t seem over the top to me?

Rajini Rao I’m not saying that the term itself is odd. I’m referring to its use in ordinary discourse when it’s not particularly necessary to make your point.

Bob Calder , I’m guessing you’ve not watched the video? 🙂
It starts off with the premise that we take artificial selection in the breeding of dogs or race horses for granted..we’ve been doing it for hundreds of years. Everyone understands the concept of breeding a thoroughbred or pit bull. It then segues into a comparison to evolutionary selection that occurs naturally.
