Zero gravity water experiments
Yes please! This is so cool.
#ScienceSunday curated by Allison Sekuler Robby Bowles Rajini Rao and me. This week we have guest co-curator Buddhini Samarasinghe (yeah).
Science is everywhere and science is beautiful. Be sure to circle ScienceSunday so that it is easier for us to +1 your comments, tag you when we re-share, etc.

Cool video Chad Haney
And wow! Didn’t know that Buddhini Samarasinghe ‘s gonna curate today too!! Looking forward! 🙂

Haha yes Deeksha Tare I’m filling in while Rajini Rao is visiting your side of the world 🙂 So far so good, it’s trending at number 2 now on G+!

Ooh yaa! Just saw!
Great going all of you super cool Curators!!
#sciencesunday FTW!!
And happy friendship day Buddhini Samarasinghe 🙂

Same to you Deeks! 🙂

Great experiment!
The only problem with this video that people in the other room thought that I was watching porn. 🙂

I think #neildegrassetyson would beg to differ.

Love seeing the strong hydrogen bongs at work. I think every astronaut does this a little! Saw another astronaut give a talk and he mentioned doing something similar.
August 5, 2012
Wow I want to drink this
August 5, 2012
Awwwwww….
August 5, 2012
very cool 🙂
August 5, 2012
Now that’s cool
August 5, 2012
Science is really cool.
August 5, 2012
That’s AMAZAYN
August 5, 2012
amazing

the string or wire around the water is so cool

The equal and opposite reaction to impact, maybe illustrates an aspect in the evolution of self defence in cellular animals, or colonies?
August 5, 2012
What I would like to know is how does an astronaut drink water because since there is no gravity wouldnt it be super easy to choke on the water since it wouldnt naturally want to go down into your stomach?
August 5, 2012
This could be used to model earth weather patterns? Blowing very gentle streams of air across the surface would set up equivalent flows in the surface tension reactions?
August 5, 2012
He had to be so high

In space no-one can hear you throwing water bombs.
August 5, 2012
Looks like liquid glass
August 5, 2012
. i can play with that for hours
August 5, 2012
that is amazing
August 6, 2012
Is it me or does it look like the monoliths from the movie 2010 are scattered within in?
August 6, 2012
I must have missed the experiments.
August 6, 2012
Wouldn’t all these have been modeled with fluid mechanics 101?
August 6, 2012
There is something about using actual fluids which could reveal interesting dynamics?
August 6, 2012
I don’t mind that the astronauts play. I’m glad they get the chance to really experience the wonder of being in space. Just don’t make it into something its not by calling it an “experiment”.
August 6, 2012
It’s fun and cool so I didn’t get hung up on semantics. I mainly care about getting people interested in science.
August 6, 2012
I thought it was NASA calling this an experiment.
August 7, 2012
cool
