Adult dogs know there is no possibility of a treat from a speaker.

Dogs are also very good at editing out sources that have proven to be uninteresting – the first or second time I play dogs rooing or wolves howling from the computer, it’s intensely interesting to our guys. Lili pretty much tried to climb under the furniture to get to the “animal.” But that’s it. No sound whatsoever is interesting from this part of the room anymore.

I started saying “pretty baby puppy” in the same tone as the Mountain Dew commercial. It was hilarious when the commercial actually came back on recently saying “puppy baby monkey” and it caught her attention and drove her nuts.

Yep, most noises from the computer or TV no longer interest my dog.

As far as editing-out goes, some things seem to always get some response. When we’re in Seattle, waiting at a pedestrian-controlled crosswalk, most of the systems have a peevish, imperative “WAIT!” male voice recording that repeats every few seconds. Every single time, Lili and Finn look at the post, startled (“Wait!” is a command they get from us a lot).

^ even blocking garbage like that ‘CLIP GIRL’ etc. isn’t working. I guess there are multiple fake profiles with the same name, and Google is doing a pretty terrible job of policing this. I.e., it’s back, with a vengeance.

Chad Haney This looks like something that Google isn’t up to dealing with.

Other googlers with a high amount of followers are getting them. I’ve reported that particular one a few times already on other people’s posts. I’ve seen it in communities with loose moderation as well.

This must have made it to the abomination formerly known as “what’s hot”. Kee Hinckley had the same problem recently. It’s a shame that Google can’t deal with an obvious problem.

I think they are dealing. Note that the blogspot ones are gone. The problem is that this is always going to be a Turing machine war. Google pretending to be a human to examine web sites to see if they are porn. Spammers pretending to be a human so they can post.

Google slapped down the blogspot ones with images, the spammers came back with links to G+ posts.

Kee Hinckley The fact that Google/Alphabet owns Blogspot made it particularly … ironic, I guess. On with the Whack-a-mole game.
